Sharing Salary Statistics

Hi All,

I have a question for the group: Last year 12 libraries out of 30 submitted their salary information. With less than half participating in this section of the survey, should we continue? I am wondering why some institutions have opted-out? Both small and large, public and private colleges have opted not to share.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

salaries

I asked about this at the November meeting too Joan because I feel it is an important part of the survey. I have been able to use the salary information in the past but when a lot of the libraries don't participate then we don't have an accurate comparison.
I realize that the positions may not correspond with the ones in every library - maybe we should review those? Perhaps we could just include the common positions such as librarians, library technicians, clerks, and shelvers?
I don't know if it is a case of confidential information but for the public colleges anyway I don't think that is a reality.

I would push to have it easier to complete rather than drop it as part of the survey.
