Renovations
Combination Reference/Leisure Reading collection: The Reference area on Level 1 has been transformed into a new combined reference/leisure reading/comfortable seating area. The transition to Web reference resources allowed for an extensive weed of the reference collection during the summer of 2009. This provided space for an expanded paperback collection.
More Wired Study Tables: Twelve study tables have been added to the library level-1. The tables with network data access and power will accommodate over 60 students for individual and group study.
Security Cameras in Eight Study Rooms: Due to concerns with equipment vandalism and personal safety each study room is now equipped with a security camera. The cameras are monitored by information desk staff. Images are recorded for a ten day period to allow for review of library policy infractions.
Faculty Association Collective Agreement
The SAIT faculty association collection agreement expires in June 2010. Librarians are seeking inclusion in the education allowance and long service allowance programmes.
